On the day before thanksgiving Obama and family gave out food to the needy, and make an impromptu appearance at an elementary school. The amateur videos are here. (Audio is very poor.) I watched carefully and it seems they are determined to remain an ordinary family as far as is possible, and not to lose touch with people. Addressing the children, I found myself quite emotional at his advice, as it’s just what we should be telling young children. I cannot remember precisely, but he tells them to listen to parents and elders and have respect for them, and to value the community around them as that is the most important thing.
America is watched by the whole world and the president will be an example to all. So the behaviour of the president is extremely important. Let’s hope the Obama family continue what they have started so well.
